Popshared.com ranks headlines from leading publishers based on the number of retweets their headlines generate. This way, popshared.com provides a truly transparant insight in headlines that are popular on Twitter. In six categories (Tech, Gadgets, Marketing, Search, Apple and Social) the site publish the most shared headlines over the last 24 hours, the last 48 hours and the last 7 days. Each category follows headlines of up to 15 renowned publications. Visitors of popshared.com can submit new sites for inclusion. The site also offers a tool which lets visitors check the number of Twitter retweets, Facebook likes, Google+ plusses and LinkedIn shares for any url. The tool provides useful insight in the social success of a page on the web. Founder Jeroen Bertrams (http://twitter.com/jeroenbertrams) came up with the idea for the site one afternoon when he argued with a friend about which techblog gathered the most retweets. By building Popshared they were able to quickly see which headlines are most shared. The team is based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
